I don't believe in diet... I believe in changing your lifestyle and therefore the way you are eating. The way you feel emotionally and physically starts by the way you are eating. Of course, adding sports to the equation is a must if you really want a have a healthy lifestyle, but you would never achieve anything with sports only. Today, I'm going to describe a little bit more my journey trough losing weight.
I'm an emotional eater. Every time I feel sad, happy, mad I eat like crazy! But I was able, by changing my diet, to transform those craving in healthier craving. I would rather go for an apple then go for a chocolate bar, not all the time, but more often than ever I craving more natural sugar than sugar pack snack. I always have clean and cut fresh vegetable in my fridge so that when I have a craving I don't go for the "easier" snack.
I talk about my health problem a lot, recently I realize that there was something really wrong with me, I would always feel bloated and I had a lot of water retention. I've always had problems with going to the bathroom. I talked about it with my doctor and he did not really try to find the reason and just gave me laxative which, if you have chronic constipation, is not the solution, it only hide the problems, I wanted to solve it. That also meant that, however perfect I was eating, I would not lose the weight I should be losing. So I start researching and not long after, I decided to start a plant base diet. I cut gluten, meat, and dairy to see if it would help. It really did! After a week, I was already seeing a big difference in my leg, which is where I have most of my water retention, they were so different. People told me my face looked skinnier and the best of all, I was going to the bathroom every day.
I'm not eating perfectly every day. I'm not a hardcore vegan that never want's to eat meat ever again. I just wanna feel better. I really wanted to share my story because I use to be so mad that everything I would try to lose weight would never work for me the way it worked for other, and the reason wasn't that I was not giving it my 100%. It was more than that, it was bigger than me. I really need to see a doctor and know what is making me feel like that, what in a "normal" diet give me those symptoms. But for the moment, I'm really happy with the plant base diet and I want to continue with it.
I hope this post was helpful, I really want you to understand that sometime, even if you put all the effort you can on something, it won't always work out for you and that you really need to find the tiny little problem that is hiding inside of you. I would talk to you soon, bye-e.
