Every time I come back from a holiday, I always feel tired. Not only my mind but my complete body. The problem is, when on holiday, you lose your routine and the simplest thing like drinking enough water or using your skin care are forgotten, and you are left dehydrated. Drinking alcohol is also a factor but it's not part of any routine and it's, most of the time, not something you can (or wants to) avoids. So here are some of my tricks to get back in shape in no time.
1. The first night you are back home, before going to sleep, drink a cup of homemade Gatorade: half a glass of juice, the other half water and add about 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix and drink. You can use regular Gatorade but the amount of sugar and sodium in it is HUGE compared to this simple mixture and you don't need that much.
2. Leave a glass of water on your table before going to bed. The next morning, add a little lemon in it and drink it at room temperature. It will be even more detoxifying if you have an empty stomach. Disclaimer, it will make you pee more, which is excellent if alcohol is an important part of your vacation but can be disturbing if you are at school or working someplace where you cannot get up all the time. One every morning should not make that much difference but stick with only one if you want to avoid the constant going to the toilet.
3. I won't tell you to drink 8 cups of water per day; every person is different. The perfect way to know when you have had enough is with your lips. Every time I feel dehydrated, I stop using chapstick and try to repair them with only water.
4. Sleep. I don't think I can add anything there. Having 8 hours of sleep every night should do the trick, then again, always listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs.
5. Use your skin care and make hydrating / repair mask to help your skin regenerate. I always try to stay natural with my mask and I really love homemade face and hair mask. My only advice there is be creative and research what you can use to help what you want to improve.
So here what I've / would be doing for the next couple of days to get back to a healthy skin. I hope it would be useful to you, I know it helps me more than once. I would see you on Friday bye-ee!!!
